What to Expect
Our church family is small so we do not have a lot of the activities and programs of a larger church. What we do have is a high view of God's Word which we believe influences every part of the church.
There is always a sense of uneasiness when you first attend a new church. Will anyone notice? Will I fit in? Will I be made to feel uncomfortable and awkward? Will they be friendly? These questions and feelings may even cause some to not bother even to check us out.
Let us reassure you. When you come to visit SURV, you will be welcomed yet not singled out or made to feel strange in any way. Our people are friendly and welcoming and the "family feel" will draw you in. You can participate in our worship as you wish. If you are new to church and the bible, we will do all we can to help settle you in, not making you feel uncomfortable in any way.
If you have questions, just ask.
The worship is Christ-exalting and contemporary in nature. We like to celebrate together all that Christ is and does. So, you are free to join in singing and free to express your worship in the way you choose.
The preaching of God's Word is central to our worship. Our pastor, James Smith, is a dynamic communicator of God's Truth and the messages are easy to follow, true to Scripture and you always walk away with a challenge.
So, come on in! We await your visit and opportunity to show you the love of Christ.
